A COMMON LIFE

Our dream is to cultivate a local/ global culture of Christ-following that is catalytic and generative. We are optimistic that people formed by the awareness of the kingdom of God and obedience to the specific teachings of Jesus will be fruitful multipliers of the message and reality of the reign of God—a reality that is fundamentally characterized by love.

Cultivating a generative network of people commited to the intentional pursuit
of a common way of life fueled by the life and teachings of Jesus.

“Generative network” refers to our intent to organize ourselves in a permeable web-like system of centered-set relationships-- with the goal of creating synergy and solidarity in our pursuit of Christ-likeness.

“Intentional pursuit” suggests that we want to be systematic and explicit in our efforts to live in the way of Jesus.

“Common way of life” refers to a sense of solidarity and common commitments, habits and rhythms we practice to “work out our salvation with fear and trembling.”

“The life and teachings of Jesus” simply put, are (1) the example of Jesus’ life, (2) the content of his teaching about how to live in the kingdom of God, and (3) the work of the cross that unleashed the power of the spirit to fuel and transform our lives.

COMMON SABBATHS

We currently host a Common Sabbath Retreat the first weekend of each month, usually in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  We spend some time meeting to dream about and organize our community while saving plenty of time for a Sabbath of rest together.

INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY

Currently an intentional community is developing in the Mission District of San Francisco.  Several individuals and families are living together while others are looking to relocate to be together.
